STEAM BOILER TREATMENT PRODUCTS

General Information: Steam boiler treatment includes chemical materials which prevent deposits, scavenger oxygen, reduce corrosion, and under proper conditions gradually clean treated boilers. The products can be provided as individual components for maximum flexibility in the program, or as combined formulations for ease of handling. WTW products represent common and accepted components and formulations.

BW-10 Boiler Treatment  is a dry phosphate based product, normally used where makeup water is softened and boiler PSIG is 100 or greater. This product is USDA G6 approved.
BW-11 Boiler Treatment  is a liquid alkalinity supplement. This product is USDA G6 approved.
BW-12 Boiler Treatment  is a liquid sludge conditioner suitable for large applications. This product is USDA G6 approved.
BW-13 Boiler Treatment  is a liquid sludge conditioner suitable for medium sized applications. This product is USDA G6 approved.
BW-14 Boiler Treatment  is a liquid sludge conditioner suitable for non USDA applications. This product is not USDA approved.
BW-15 Boiler Treatment  is a liquid phosphate based product normally used where makeup water is softened and boiler PSIG is 100 or greater. This product is USDA G6 approved.
BW-16 Boiler Treatment  is a combination liquid alkalinity, sludge conditioner, and sulfite product used where makeup water is hard or softening is not consistent. This product is USDA G6 approved.
BW-17 Boiler Treatment  is a combination liquid alkalinity, sludge conditioner, sulfite, and return line treatment product used in small applications where a single drum formulation is desired. This product is USDA G6 approved.
BW-18 Boiler Treatment  is a combination sludge conditioner and sulfite product used where makeup water is dependably softened and additional alkalinity is not needed. This product is USDA G6 approved.
BW-19 Boiler Treatment  is a supplemental catalyzed liquid sulfite. This product is not USDA approved.
BW-20 Boiler Treatment  is a supplemental denatured liquid sulfite. This product is USDA G6 approved.
BW-21 Boiler Treatment  is a supplemental dry sulfite. This product is not USDA approved.

CONDENSATE RETURN LINE PRODUCTS

General Information: Neutralizing amines can reduce return line corrosion which is characterized by grooving and thinning pipe walls. WTW return line products are formulated based on:

Ability to travel with the steam
Ability to condense at the correct points in the system
Ability to be retained in the system

 

RL-23 Return Line Treatment  is a multi-component formulation designed to treat a variety of return line conditions while remaining within USDA dosage parameters. This product is USDA G6 approved.
RL-24 Return Line Treatment  is designed for high steam pressures and long steam line runs, either or both. Formulated for medium sized applications . This product is USDA G6 approved.
RL-25 Return Line Treatment  is designed for low steam pressures and long steam line runs. Formulated for medium-to-large sized applications. USDA G6 approved.
RL-26 Return Line Treatment  is designed for high steam pressures and short steam line runs, either or both. Formulated for medium sized applications, USDA G6 approved.

BIOLOGICAL CONTROL FOR COOLING TOWER APPLICATIONS

B-3 Industrial Bacteriostat  is an Aldehyde Release product which is gaining use in cooling tower applications. At recommended dosage the product is non-corrosive and non-oxidizing. It is compatible with all tower treatment inhibitor products supplied by WTW.

Based on a few simple questions, WTW can offer a recommendation as to which bio-control products best suit your needs. Regular systematic addition of biocides will result in optimum biological control.

COOLING TOWER SCALE AND CORROSION CONTROL

General Information: Although the name "cooling tower treatment" is familiar, we could better call these products "heat exchanger treatment." WTW products are formulated to provide scale and corrosion control in a wide range of field conditions and especially at the heat exchange area where efficiency is gained or lost. WTW cooling tower products are formulated based on:

Safety for personnel and systems
Dischargeability
Broad range of field conditions
CW-6 Scale and Corrosion Inhibitor  is designed for systems using makeup water of moderate hardness and alkalinity, and discharging to a city sewer or other treatment plant. It is controlled by a molybdate test which provides easy and accurate control readings. This product is USDA G7.
CW-7 Scale and Corrosion Inhibitor  is designed for systems using makeup water of high hardness and alkalinity and discharging to a city sewer or other water treatment plant. It is controlled by a molybdate test which provides easy and accurate control readings. This product is USDA G7.
CW-8 Scale and Corrosion Inhibitor  is designed for systems using makeup water of moderate hardness and alkalinity. Formulated with no metals or orthophosphates, this product meets typical sewer discharge parameters and all but the most stringent direct outfall parameters. It is controlled by an Organo Phosphonate test or fed volumetrically. This product is USDA G7.
CW-9 Scale and Corrosion Inhibitor  is designed for systems using makeup water of high hardness and alkalinity. Formulated with no metals or orthophosphates, this product meets typical sewer discharge parameters and all but the most stringent direct outfall parameters. It is controlled by an Organo Phosphonate test, or fed volumetrically. This product is USDA G7.
CW-38 New System Scale and Corrosion Inhibitor  is designed for start up operation of cooling systems where a new galvanized metal cooling tower is being placed into service. This product meets typical sewer discharge parameters and all but the most stringent direct outfall parameters. It is controlled by a molybdate test which provides easy and accurate control readings. CW-38 can also be used to provide scale and corrosion inhibition on an ongoing basis in systems where the makeup water hardness and alkalinity vary widely, including soft water makeup.
WTW can assist you in selecting a cooling tower inhibitor based on your answers to a few simple questions about your system. All cooling tower inhibitors should be fed by an automated control system to accurately maintain correct feed and bleed rates.

CLOSED LOOP TREATMENT

General information: WTW Closed loop treatment products are suitable for corrosion control in hot, cold, or temperate closed loop systems not containing glycol. The products are formulated to incorporate:

 pH Adjustment

Oxygen scavenging where appropriate

Steel and Noble metal inhibition

 

CL-4 Closed Loop Treatment  is a familiar and often used Nitrite based inhibitor formulation. This formulation is especially well suited for hot water boiler or chilled water applications.
CL-5 Closed Loop Treatment  incorporates Molybdate into a multi-component formulation, providing excellent corrosion inhibition and passivation properties. This formulations is suitable for recirculating loops which are open to the atmosphere as well as closed loops.
CL-36 Closed Loop Treatment  is a sulfite based formulation recommended in systems where biological control could be a problem if a nutrient based inhibitor was used. It is most commonly used in temperate loops, such as heat pumps.

CL-39 Closed Loop Treatment  is a dry Nitrite based inhibitor formulation.  This formulation is well suited for both hot water and chilled water applications.  CL-39 dry Nitrite is only available in 300 pound 55 gallon drums.

In the absence of any specific system problems, continue with whatever type of treatment matches the current program. New or contaminated systems should be flushed prior to treatment. WTW can assist you in selecting the appropriate closed loop treatment product based on your answers to a few questions about your system.

MISCELLANEOUS PRODUCTS

M-34 New System Boil Out  is designed to remove grease, oil, and other contaminants form new piping prior to treatment with an ongoing program. This product is not USDA approved.
 
M-37 Resin Cleaner  is designed to remove foulants from zeolite resin. This product is USDA P1 approved.
 
AF-40 Freeze Protection and Rust Inhibitor.  Inhibited propylene glycol. (95%).
